Random Musings: My Morning Tea and Smoothie

I know, seems so random, right?  But that little bowl of green Matcha tea with a healthy helping of lemon kicks my system into gear.  I don’t drink a lot because I don’t need much caffeine, but it warms my insides, feels cozy and starts me off with tons of good antioxidants, catechins for fighting cancer, and fiber among many other helpful attributes.

I follow that (at least this week, I get on these benders of the same thing every day) with a yummy smoothie.  Today’s version is banana, strawberries, a sprinkle of chia seeds, a scoop of protein powder and dash of agave with some cold water and ice.  DELICIOUS.  Brief aside of total cuteness:  Every time I open the freezer door, Incredi-Dog must have an ice cube.  A girl after my own heart, as I am obsessed with ice myself.

Some nights I will set everything out on the counter so that it is super easy for me to throw it together in the morning and I can’t use the excuse that I don’t have the time.  I will also set out my vitamins and supplements, because that is just something I don’t think about until it is too late, as in, getting ready for bed and “Oops, forgot the vitamins today.”  Not so great for the prevention side of things!

Make it as easy on yourself as possible to get into a morning routine, because the last person that we generally take care of is ourselves.  With some help from great nutrients, you will be ready to take on the world!  Or at least, your boss/family/that long to-do list.  One step at a time!
