Local Organic Produce Delivery

MNU-ICONS-HEALTH
You would be surprised at the amount of local farmers nearby that might deliver produce directly to your door.  I know for myself, organic produce has now become a necessity, not a luxury. In my busy world, the time it takes to go to three different markets to get what I need, is not something I am willing to give up.  I love the local farmer’s markets, and where I live, there is one nearby almost every day.  I have been lucky enough to find an even more convenient way to get my organic produce – home delivery.

Here is an example of the contents of my box:

Leaf lettuce, strawberries, oranges, apples, mushrooms, mint and sweet potatoes

Every week, we receive a box of organic fruits and vegetables from a local farmers collective that is delivered right to our door.  To me, it is like opening a present every week!  I never know what is in the box.  There is a newsletter in every delivery with a note from farmer Thaddeus on what is happening with the growth that week, and it is written so beautifully that I look forward to reading that almost more than receiving the delicious fruits and vegetables.

Also included are recipes and information on the contents.  Who knew there was a bacon avocado? I have had to look up recipes and preparation instructions on a number of items I have received because I had never used it before, so it keeps widening my fruit and vegetable horizons with every box!

The company we use is Farm Fresh to You, and I highly recommend both their products and their excellent level of customer service.  I hope that you will do some investigating and see what local produce is available to you in your area from a farmer’s collective (try www.localharvest.org/csa for starters).  In addition to taking good care of yourself by using organic produce, you are also supporting your local community and keeping the farming tradition alive and well!
