Yoga-Holiday

MNU-ICONS-HEALTH
September is National Yoga Month. Consider it an opportunity to give yourself a holiday from, dare we say, yourself! Forget all of your worries for an hour and concentrate solely on your health and well-being. We think you deserve it.

Research shows that practicing yoga weekly helps lower blood pressure and ease stress while building strength and flexibility. According to a study in the Journal of Physical Activity and Health, by just practicing 20 minutes, you can boost your brainpower for up to 45 minutes afterward, even with a less intense version, like Hatha.

HOT TIP:  Did you know that according to PLOS Medicine, women who participated in two hours per week of stretching (like downward dog) and resistance training lowered their risk of diabetes by 40%? This is attributed to the boost of insulin control and decreased body fat as a result of the activity.  Get that dog down!
