Best Black Bean Dip
If you need a healthy appetizer for your next gathering, try this hot potato. Inspired by a dip I had in a restaurant in my homeland of Texas, we figured out our own version. Black beans are so darn good for you, and absolutely everything in this dip is healthy. Serve warm or cold with pita chips or raw veggies. Let us know what you think!
1 cup tomato, diced
1/2 cup red onion, diced
2 garlic cloves
1 medium jalapeño, seeded and diced
2 15 oz. cans black beans, drained
1 tablespoon cumin
2 tablespoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon cayenne
1 cup cilantro, chopped, plus sprigs for garnish
1 lime, juiced
DIRECTIONS:
Add tomato, onion, garlic, and jalapeño in a food processor and pulse until slightly chunky. Add beans, spices, lime, and cilantro and pulse until nearly smooth. Can be served warm or cold. Garnish with cilantro. Serve with tortilla or pita chips or a vegetable crudité.
