Introducing: Jamie’s Hearts

We’d like to share with you a new series by our Inspiration Editor, Jamie. Welcome to Jamie’s Hearts.

Ever since I wrote my first article for My New Usual about a year ago titled “Finding Love Everywhere in Everything,” I have become even MORE obsessed with finding all of those naturally occurring heart-shapes, those hidden (and sometimes not so hidden) messages of love. Finding these hearts has literally become a regular part of my daily walk of life. No matter what, no one can argue with the fact that this simple little shape conveys an image or message of LOVE and somehow, even if I am having a bad day, that unexpected message of love makes me smile. What a gift!

As I mentioned in the aforementioned article, there had been a plumeria flower lei we had draped onto my beloved Uncle Sonny’s grave at Punch Bowl Cemetery in Hawaii years back after his memorial service.   Saddened by the huge loss of this amazing man, I remember smiling when I noticed the flower lei we had draped onto his grave, was actually hanging there in the form of a heart. I truly believe that was a message of love in this midst of the sadness we were all feeling at that moment.

Love truly is ALL AROUND us. It is everywhere and can be found in everything! Love is just waiting to be discovered. LOVE. IS. EVERYTHING.

Since the article, friends of mine from ALL over the world – France, Scotland, New York, Hawaii, friends vacationing in Ireland, Japan and so forth have began texting me photos of naturally occurring heart-shapes they have come across in their daily lives and travels. There are seriously no words to describe how much receiving these photo texts makes me smile but more importantly, how great is it when you stop to really think about it that all over the world people are being a little more present and actively taking note of all of these little messages of love! It’s like a whole hearts movement and I’d just love to keep it going! No matter what we are going through, there are messages of love everywhere. And just like the continuous line of the heart pattern, we all need to do our part to keep the love line going – we need to find it, appreciate it and share it abundantly!

So with that said, my editor and I thought it would be a great idea to start a column devoted to all of these wonderful heart shapes and allow you the readers to send in all of the heart-shaped messages of love you have come across in your daily lives to be shared here on this column!

Please send your heart shape photos to: info@mynewusual.com and if you’d like, please provide a description/ story behind the heart (if there is one). I can’t wait to see all of them and share them! Messages of love are EVERYWHERE and they are waiting to be shared….
