Iodine.com is great for helping break down side effects from prescription medications. Their mission is “to build tools that help people understand their health and improve their healthcare choices…by combining clinical research with real life experience, creating better information that can yield new insights.

They have med labels that are easier to understand than the ones you actually get with the medicine, with highlights, indications and usage, dosage administration and forms/strengths, precautions and more.

They also include stories and stats from other Iodine users from their own experience. Like we do here at MNU, sharing personal experiences makes the information that much more powerful.

Patientslikeme – This site helps you find more people like you, where you can exchange information and compare notes on treatment.

Founded by siblings who were inspired by their brother’s struggle with ALS, they created this platform to help patients “…manage their own conditions, change the way industry conducts research and improve patient care.”

They have created a platform for a more effective way to share the medical side of your experience with other patients like you and organizations that focus on your conditions.

Crowdmed helps people figure out what their illnesses are, when they can’t find help from medical professionals. Anyone can submit a case on the CrowdMed website for free (with a $50 refundable deposit), or along with a cash compensation offer to draw more attention to their case. They use the power of community to solve cases, along with medical experts to help diagnose issues quickly and accurately. You post your condition anonymously, and a team of “detectives” which include medical professionals work to diagnose the issue.  If you have a problem that doctors can’t diagnose, perhaps this community can help you.
