HOT TIP: Diabetes

Wowza. This is rather shocking. Please read on and pay attention!

A new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 29.1 million people or 9.3% of the U.S. population have diabetes, up from 26 million in 2010.  While that’s staggering, it is even more shocking that it is estimated 8.1 million people have diabetes, but are undiagnosed.  Hello, 27.8% of those with diabetes have no idea that they have it! That is 1 in 4 Americans.  An additional 86 million have prediabetes (higher than normal blood sugar counts).

Unless diet and exercise are improved, that means those with prediabetes could develop the disease within five years.  Please pay attention to this, talk to your doctor, and get with the healthy lifestyle program! Come on people, you can do this. The alternative is not acceptable, particularly when it is preventable.
