Why do we celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day?

National Cancer Survivors Day® is the one day each year that communities across the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, to bring attention to the ongoing challenges of cancer survivorship, and to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be fruitful, rewarding, and inspiring. NCSD also provides an opportunity for cancer survivors to connect with other survivors, celebrate the milestones they’ve achieved, and acknowledge the family members, friends, and healthcare professionals who have supported them along the way.

Who is a cancer survivor?

A survivor is anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life. Whether you’re in treatment, just diagnosed, or have been in remission for 20 years, you’re a cancer survivor.

Help us raise awareness of the challenges of cancer survivorship.

Help us raise awareness of the challenges of cancer survivorship and spread the word about National Cancer Survivors Day® 2015. On Sunday, June 7, we want to send the message that there is life after cancer – and that’s something to celebrate – but we can still do more to lessen the burdens of cancer survivorship.
